Getting Started with Truora
Welcome! If you’re new to Truora, this page will help you understand what we do and which product is right for you. No technical knowledge required.
What does Truora do?
Truora helps businesses verify who people say they are and check if they can be trusted. We do this through four main products:
- Truora Pass — Lets users sign in to your app with an identity they already verified
- Digital Identity Verification — Confirms that a person is who they say they are
- Background Checks — Looks up public records to check someone’s history
- WhatsApp Customer Engagement — Lets you talk to your customers through WhatsApp automatically

Product 1: Truora Pass
In one sentence: This product lets users sign in to your application with an identity they already verified with Truora — no passwords, and no repeating document or face verification.
How does it work?
Truora Pass is an Identity Provider — the same kind of thing as “Sign in with Google”. A user verifies their identity once inside Truora Pass (document + face). From then on, they can sign in to any app that integrates Truora Pass and choose to share their verified identity data with it, with their explicit consent.
From your side, the integration is standard: add a sign-in button, send the user to Truora Pass, and receive their verified identity data back. Your application never runs the verification itself — Truora Pass does it, and you read the result.

Product 2: Digital Identity Verification
In one sentence: This product confirms that your users are real people and that their documents, phone numbers, and emails are genuine.
How does it work?
You create a Flow — think of it as a checklist of verification steps. When a user needs to verify their identity, they go through your Flow step by step. Each step checks something different:
- Document Validation — The user takes a photo of their ID. We read it and check that it’s real.
- Face Validation — The user takes a selfie or short video. We compare it to their ID photo to make sure it’s the same person.
- Phone Validation — We send a code to the user’s phone. They enter it to prove the number is theirs.
- Email Validation — We send a code to the user’s email. They enter it to prove the email is theirs.
- Electronic Signature — The user signs a document digitally, with legal validity.
You choose which steps to include. A bank might require document + face + phone. A simple signup might only need email.

Product 3: Background Checks
In one sentence: This product searches public records to check if a person, company, or vehicle has any red flags.
How does it work?
You provide some basic information (like a name and ID number), and we search government databases and public records. Within minutes, you get a report that includes:
- Criminal records
- Legal history
- International sanctions lists
- Vehicle information (if checking a vehicle)
- And more, depending on the country
Each check gives you an overall score from 0 to 1. A higher score means fewer red flags. You can use this score to automatically approve or flag someone.

Product 4: WhatsApp Customer Engagement

How does it work?
You use a visual Flow Builder (drag and drop, no coding needed) to design conversations. Then you can:
- Send messages to groups of customers (Campaigns)
- Set up a chatbot that answers questions automatically
- Have real agents handle complex conversations
- Combine with Digital Identity to verify users right inside WhatsApp

How do these products work together?
These products can be combined. For example:
- Truora Pass + Digital Identity: Truora Pass runs the document and face verification for you, so your users sign in with an identity that’s already verified.
- WhatsApp + Digital Identity: A user starts a WhatsApp conversation and verifies their ID right there, without leaving the chat.
- WhatsApp + Background Checks: You can trigger a background check from within a WhatsApp conversation.
- Digital Identity + Background Checks: After verifying someone’s identity document, you can automatically run a background check on them.
What do I need to get started?
